Thyme, Milkvetch Honey, and Wild Flowers Honies Producer
Hives are located in the three different regions of Kurdistan province which are covered with different plant species naturally, and the plants are grown without using chemical materials, etc. The area which is covered with different species of Thyme plants (Thymus spp) has been using to produce Thyme honey. So, Thyme honey is produced from many species of Thyme (Thymus spp.). But of the 350 different species or so, the notable honey producing species are Wild Thyme (T. Capitatus), Garden Thyme (T. Vularis), and Mother-of-Thyme (T. Serpyllum) (Fig. 1). The region which is covered with different species of Astragalus plant is applied to produce the Milkvetch honey (fig. 2). Wildflower honey, also known as poly floral honey, is derived from the nectar of numerous species of flowers or blossoms. The taste, aroma and flavor will vary from season to season, depending on which flowers are dominant at the time the nectar is collected.
